Each Forbidden plant of Palestine motif carries a story of connection, resilience, and remembrance. These motifs have been reimagined as banners, enlarged and distilled, transforming intimate stitches into visual declarations that hover between memory and manifesto.
The motifs are further translated into black-and-white textile collages, each serving as a blueprint—a tactile map of the plants and the stories they hold.
In the accompanying video installation, the labor-intensive process unfolds: each fabric square is placed like a seed, a gesture of care and persistence. The Forbidden Plants grow slowly, through touch and repetition, echoing the acts of planting, tending, and reclaiming the land. Every stitch and placement becomes both resistance and remembrance—a quiet cultivation of what endures.
Through these banners and video, the work bears witness to connection and defiance. It is a record of memory, a reclaiming of presence, and a stand against ongoing erasure. We remember. We understand. We resist.
