Inspired by the clinking cups, rich scents and lively conversations that made up the tapestry of our childhood, the Subhiyeh ‘Morning Coffee’ collection stitches together past and present scenes from Jordanian coffee culture.

As a textile collage, every scene is created using reclaimed fabrics from the clothes, curtains and tablecloths of friends, family and even strangers, all members of our circles in some way connected. Each piece witnessed a Subhiyeh of its own , and those stories are woven into this collection.

Subhiyeh was born out of curiosity and playful experimentation between figurative painter Nour Taher and myself. Together, we merged elements from our individual styles to create this collaborative body of works, all influenced by the coffee culture we grew up with.
